I have been enjoying painting simple landscapes, and for this painting, I limited myself to a specific rose-like palette. I used Artecho oil pastels along with my Prismacolor colored pencils for detail work and sketching. The Canson Graduate toned paper works really well holding up the creamy pastels. Challenging yourself to use a more limited palette can boost creativity. Sometimes, too many choices can feel overwhelming and defeat you before you’ve had a chance to start! Pick a small handful of colors and see what happens!
