I have been thinking of the use of mosaics in art a lot lately. Of course, there is the art of mosaics, but I wondered what I could do if I painted and drew in a mosaic style. Such fun! Here, I have sketched a bird (maybe a dove?) and used colored pencils. I also happened to be trying out a new journal, so I though I should stick with colored pencils as the paper was thin. The jury is still out on the journal, but the mosaic style is a keeper. Since this drawing, I have done a vase of florals in oil pastels and that worked well.
