Tombow Markers Wonky House Painting VIDEO

Since I was a little girl, I have always loved drawing houses. Architecture is such a great art that combines both sides of the brain. I'm not sure that this wonky house would structurally withstand the test of time, but it would be fun to live in nevertheless. :) I sketched it out with a ink pen, then painted with Tombow Dual Brush Markers. They are such a versatile art supply! Check out the video! ... View the Post

Oil Pastel Bird Painting on Vintage Paper

This paper, which has a vintage coloring and textured surface, is very interesting to use for painting. It is great for oil pastels, gouache, acrylic paint, colored pencils, and minimal watercolor. Watercolors soak in pretty quickly, so I would only use them minimally and in conjunction with other media. I love painting birds! This little cutie is mostly colored pencil and oil pastels. There is a very small amount of watercolor for blending purposes. It would be lovely to frame behind glass. ... View the Post

Arteza Gouache & A Crazy Lady

Okay, this painting went a little bonkers! :) I have had the Arteza gouache for quite a time now, so I wanted to do a swatch to remind myself of the colors. They are fairly vibrant when not diluted with too much water. I would say they are fine for digital work, art journals, cards, and coloring. I think there are better gouache brands out there, but these are great if you are starting out and wanting tubes instead of the pots (like HIMI). She has giant hair and a pinched face, but ... Vintage-Looking Bows & Short Video

Christmas will be here soon! This VIDEO has a quick drawing process for fluffy bows! :) They are fun to draw. You can color them in a variety of ways, cut them out for ephemera, or to make card backgrounds. I created a pattern (below) that you can purchase in fabric and wallpaper at Spoonflower! I added some shimmer as well. You can use Tonic Studios shimmer pens, or Iridescent medium. ... View the Post

Flower Drawing Painting with Tombow Markers

Tombow Dual Brush Pens (markers) are such a great art supply! From brush lettering to travel journal painting, they add bold watercolor in the convenience of a dual-tip marker. Fine details can be added with one end, while painting and lettering is easy with the brush nib that has the perfect blend of flexibility and sturdiness. The flowers below were drawn with a Micron pen, then colored with the Tombow markers. I also activated the watercolor with a regular paintbrush. Fun and ... View the Post

Fashion Sketches Using Templates

Since I was a wee ten-year-old lass, I have been drawing fashion sketches! I would have loved to have these templates! These are great for proportions and poses. If you sketch lightly in pencil, you can erase easily while adding the clothes. This set comes with several poses, as well as a "dress form" type template. They work perfectly in a 9 x 12 inch sketchbook. ... View the Post
