Oil Pastel Potted Flowers

I hope you had a great Christmas! Hopefully, you can pop into your favorite place to create! I don't often do YouTube "lives" (now that our internet is better, I'll be doing more), and my desk was messy, but these potted flowers were worth it. I love using oil pastels! Below are some seamless patterns that I created from these pieces. Here are the patterns! So much fun to stretch art pieces and make coordinating designs! ... View the Post

Watercolor Snowman & YouTube Video

So far, we are having a mild winter here in Michigan (which is fine with me). Driving in snow and ice is not one of my favorite things to do. I would rather paint my snowman. :) I hope you all have a Merry Christmas! ... View the Post

Inktense Pencil & Watercolor Chilly Bird

I had fun painting this chilly, cute bird! I used Inktense pencils and watercolor. He looks prepared for a Michigan winter! I used a piece of watercolor paper and a water resistent ink pen (like a Micron). I created a collection of design papers. The DIGITAL is here at Etsy, and paperbacks are available at Barnes & Noble and at Amazon. This collection is available in PAPERBACK at both Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The papers are double-sided and thinner than cardstock, but still ... View the Post

The Same Painting: Watercolor vs. Soft Pastel

I wanted to paint the same floral bouquet in a vase in two different mediums just to see the difference for myself. Wow! It's amazing how different they can look! The watercolor was bolder, but the one done in pastels had more texture. I used my ART TALENS art journal. Here is the same-ish painting in soft pastel. I like both of them, but you can really see the difference between the two mediums in regards to texture and boldness. I painted this in soft pastels in my Strathmore ... View the Post

Yellow Watercolor Daisy

Here is a quick daisy-ish sketch in watercolor. It looks a wee bit rough, but it is always good to exercise the brain. :) I often take these small paintings, clean them up, and use them in surface pattern design regardless. Even if you have five minutes, you can get something down on paper that you can use later, and it's fun! Exploring with your supplies is always a good thing. Here is a pattern I made from these flowers! ... View the Post
