Black drawing paper takes oil pastels well, especially for art journaling purposes. This quick painting makes good use of the creamy texture of pastels. I love the opacity! Mixed Media Hummingbird
I painted this hummingbird in watercolor, then added pastels on top for texture and opacity. Bird are always a favorite to paint. There is such a variety in colors and shapes! This little bird will make its way into a pattern eventually! Mixed media is my go-to, as I love to incorporate the strenths of each medium.
