Today is a beautiful Saturday! I love fall and it is the most inspiring season to me. It passes all too quickly, so I'm trying to remember the moments and use them to create. When I'm in an artsy moment, I love grabbing colored pencils! They are easy to carry from room to room or while traveling; I love getting instant, dry results. I also love to add them to watercolors. I usually start with pencil, then add layers of colors on the same lines. Art During the Great Power Outage
Michigan was hit hard with crazy winds up near the 66 m.p.h. mark! We were one of the lucky 800,000 to be without power. Our luck stretched even farther to be in the last 1% to be restored. That made our outage 6 1/2 days long! It was a week of character building to be sure. Though I couldn't record videos or run my machines, I could still draw. And read. I read a lot of poetry! The Mist Brings Clarity
As a writer, there are certain things that inspire the thoughts that turn into stories. Sometimes the idea is a subtle one, and it develops into something more later on. Sometimes, all it takes is the right color in the sky, the smell of the air, crunchy leaves, or the fog. This was the view from my window one morning.
