One of my favorite art books is Painting Nature with Clare. She has a lovely style. I thought I would try her bird nest, since I love the colors teal and brown together. I painted on Starthmore’s Toned Tan paper. I used oil pastels. My favorites are Mungyo and Paul Rubens. They are creamy and still easy to layer. Colored Pencils also work well with oil pastels and can give added details that can be hard to add with “chubby” oil pastel sticks.
