Bunnies are always in abundance in my yard. One time, I found a bunch of baby bunnies at the base of a pine tree, surrounded by the most soft gray fur. They were so cute! I used my Strathmore toned tan paper journal and my oil pastels to paint this cutie. đŸ™‚ I also used a charcoal pencil and my Prismacolor colored pencils for the detail work. I have a video at the bottom of the post!
Oil pastels are such a great way to bring out fur and the soft texture of animals. The creamy pastels layer up with a natural variance of color. Bits of the color underneath can poke through, making the overall effect more interesting and less 2D.

If you love oil pastels, or are just curious about them, I have over 1,700 videos on my channel. You are bound to find something!

I like to look at my paintings in grayscale to learn about the values in the piece. VIDEO BELOW!
