Butterflies are my favorite insect. They are beautiful, gentle, and don’t bite you and inject poisonous venom into your bloodstream. 🙂 There are so many color variations! I think this one is a Rajah Brooke’s birdwing (sort of-kind of). I love using Sennelier’s copper oil pastel for final details to represent the iridescent look in butterfly wings. I mostly used Artecho oil pastels in my Strathmore toned tan paper art journal.
This first photo shows the butterfly before adding the shiny Sennelier reddish, copper color.
