This was an impromptu painting after the idea of fairy wings popped into my head. The result looks a bit more juvenile than I was imagining, but it was still fun. Using Sennelier’s iridescence set adds to the overall effect. I love that set! Otherwise, I used Artecho oil pastels after sketching with a charcoal pencil (VIDEO BELOW). Oil pastels work well on Canson Graduate mixed media paper.
It was a bit challenging to get delicate see-through wings, as oil pastels do not have a fine tip. I’ll have to try it again. Do you love to paint realistic things or fantasy? Maybe try a fairy as an art prompt! 🙂
