I love doors that lead to secret places, like beautiful and mysterious gardens! I loved reading The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, and ever since, have loved the idea of a stone wall and locked doors. I painted this in oil pastels on Canson Graduate Mixed Media toned paper. I taped the edges with washi for a clean finish. Per usual, I used my colored pencils for some of the sketching and details.
Using Sennelier gold for some of the finishing details always adds a touch of something special. We always need a little shimmer! 🙂 There is a video at the bottom of the post.
