Penguin Painting with Lyra Aquarell Crayons & VIDEO

I felt like painting a penguin. 🙂 I know, it is out of my wheelhouse and not remotely realistic, but it was fun! I always enjoy pulling out my Lyra Aquarell crayons. They are highly pigmented. I enjoy using them just as much as my Caran D’Ache (and they are a lot cheaper). I have the 24 and 48 set. You can use them in a variety of ways, and they are perfect for mixed media paintings because of how well they play with other media.

These pigmented crayons work well on canvas and a variety of papers. Today, I’m using Canson Graduate mixed media paper. Blick had a bunch on sale for a great deal, so I have been using this paper a lot!
