If you are looking for an easy oil pastel landscape painting to try, watch the video at the bottom of the post! This makes use of the creamy method with some textural grassy stuff in the foreground. These are highly technical terms that you need to learn. 🙂 I mostly used Soho oil pastels with Mungyo Gallery oil pastels. They work well together and have slightly different color choices. I used Canson gray mixed media paper, which holds the pastels well. It is slightly thicker than Strathmore.
You can easily change the colors in this to suit your preferences. The idea is to get a bit of a stormy sky, wispy clouds near the peak, and inviting heather in the fields.
