Mixed media is a great way to use your art supplies together, utilizing their strengths to advantage. Watercolors and soft pastels really work well together. Using watercolor as a light foundation, allowing it to seep into the paper for a gentle base for the soft pastel to “hold on to”, is a great choice for underpaintings.
I used a floral arranging book for inspiration. I love the wide spray of flowers, which is different than my usual taller design. I love using these paintings in my surface pattern design for paper, wallpaper, and fabric! 🙂 The journal that I am using here is the Art Talens journal. Fun!
