I wanted to paint the same floral bouquet in a vase in two different mediums just to see the difference for myself. Wow! It’s amazing how different they can look! The watercolor was bolder, but the one done in pastels had more texture.

Here is the same-ish painting in soft pastel. I like both of them, but you can really see the difference between the two mediums in regards to texture and boldness.
I painted this in soft pastels in my Strathmore toned tan paper journal.
