Painting

Watercolor Crab with Iridescent Medium

These crabs were fun to paint in watercolor. Each crab is just one color with varying degrees of intensity. I was a bit brave and didn’t sketch them first. I just painted in an organic way, allowing the “blob” to take a crab shape. While they were still wet, I dropped in Winsor & Newton Iridescent medium. The sparkle is amazing. It is a fun medium to try. You can add it to your painting, as I did here, or add it to your paint in advance before starting your work.
