I have been freshly milling my flour for a couple of years, but now I do it exclusively to battle an autoimmune disease in our family. To be honest, I prefer the taste of this real bread, and I love all the nutrients that we get from eating something so delicious! This hamburger bun recipe from Grains in Small Places is a favorite! I make the dough in my bread machine, and it turns out perfectly. The I use parchment and sheet trays to bake in the oven. I recently got a Brod & Taylor ... View the Post
Freshly Milled Crackers
Because of the need to follow an anti-inflammatory diet in our household, I have had to switch to exclusively freshly milled bread products, including breads, crackers, pastas, and muffins. Of course, this is healthy to do in any case, but I have been replacing things over the last few months. I have found Michal Grappe's website extremely helpful among others, and this cracker recipe was easy and delicious! The recipe uses coconut sugar and soft white wheat for a tender crumb. Brownie Date Balls for Dessert! VIDEO
These are so easy to make, delicious, and great for when you don't want to heat up the house. One of my favorite cookbooks right now is The Feel Good Foodie cookbook. I have made several things from it, and everything has been amazingly delicious! You can pop them into glass containers (or freezer bags) for storage. Just grab a few out when needed! :) I love getting my dates from Azure Standard. The quality is amazing! Check out the video below for the easy process. :) ... View the Post
Slow Cooker Arancini Casserole & VIDEO
You have to try this easy and tasty slow cooker casserole! As the name suggests, it taps into the ingredients often associated with arancini. Normally, arancini are stuffed and fried rice balls. This is a casserole version that is so easy to cook. It would also make a great side dish or potluck contribution! :) I have a VIDEO at the bottom of the post for those that are visual learners. Recipe: 4 c cooked white rice 2 c cream cheese 1 c chicken broth 2 c finely grated Pecorino or parm 6-8 ... View the Post
Instant Pot Dried Beans & VIDEO
I love my electric pressure cooker! I use it to make all sorts of sides and dinners, especially in the summer when I don't want to heat up the house. I have also been known to forget to thaw my proteins, and often turn to my Instant Pot for a tasty plan B. :) It is also great for doing the not-so-fun jobs like cooking beans. Dry beans are SO much cheaper than canned. I love Azure Standard organic, non-GMO beans. They are a great price! No matter where you get yours, you will save lots of money ... View the Post
Bread Machine Cranberry Loaf & VIDEO
I love using my bread machine to knead for me, but it is also great for baking. My oven is then freed up for other things (though, it caught on fire in March) :). My last bread machine pan died, so fortunately I had a new one "waiting in the wings", so to speak. This cranberry bread is great with a bit of butter, but it makes amazing turkey sandwiches, too! You could also use the dough cycle, then make wee rolls for a brunch buffet. Check out the VIDEO! ... View the Post
