Oil Pastel Fairy Door Vase Painting & VIDEO

Here is the second "fairy door vase" painting (two of three) that features orange-like fruit. I love the teal green and coral color palette! I painted this on my Strathmore toned paper art journal with lovely shades from Artecho oil pastels. I taped the sides with washi, so I would get clean edges. :) The YouTube video is below! I love architecture from other countries and eras. I think the modern world has dropped the ball on design in beauty and functions. Many buildings are just plain depressing. I love functional art. Buildings that we can use, while still exuding beauty, is the best design to me. Oil Pastel Fairy Door Flower Vase & VIDEO

I did a bit of a mini series of paintings that include florals in a vase. This is the first of three. I love the classic blue and yellow. It is very cheery! I used oil pastels on Strathmore toned paper. I used washi tape to give crisp edges. Oil Pastel Yellow Brick Road Painting

I loved reading the Wizard of Oz books! They are great fun. Of course, I enjoy the movie as well (the old one)! My favorite part is when Dorothy first lands via the house and opens the door to the shockingly vibrant color of Oz! Here is a fun painting of a yellow brick road in my toned tan art journal. We traveled to Miami, Florida several months ago. The trees there are so different from what this northern girl sees all the time. They had huge berry-like things on them, and were so colorful and pretty! I made a quick sketch with colored pencils in my Strathmore toned paper art journal from a picture that I had taken. Artecho Oil Pastels Floral Painting & VIDEO

This was the first complete floral painting wherein I used Artecho oil pastels. I have been using them regularly ever since! They are a great price for a large set of colors, the colors included are beautiful, and the creamy-hardness balance is great!
