Whimsical Inktense Pencil Painting

I love using my Derwent Inktense pencils! They are the ultimate colored pencils and ink/watercolor art supply. Lately, I have been making swatch cards of the colors that I have used in my painting. It has been interesting to see the different color combinations. I added a final touch of gold using a Tonic Studios shimmer pen. They provide the perfect shimmer, and when they are empty, they can be washed and used as a paint brush! What is your favorite brand of colored pencils? The colored ... View the Post

Mixed Media Bridge Gazebo on a River

Art journals are a great place to practice without pressure. My proportions are a wee bit off, but this was a fun change from recent work that I have been doing. It's a gazebo-bridge combo was a quiet river flowing beneath. A peaceful swan floats delicately by. This talk is a bit dramatic for an art journal page, but it is one of those days! :) Don't be afraid to mix your art supplies. I have a watercolor underpainting here, followed by soft pastels and colored pencils. ... View the Post
