I’m giving this Soho oil pastel paper pad another go. I love how the florals turned out, but I did still find it harder to blend on this paper rather than my favorite Strathmore or Canson papers. Nevertheless, it is still nice paper with perforation edging and protective sheets between each page to prevent smudging. Among other brands, I used some of my favorite colors from Mungyo Gallery oil pastels!
I taped off the edges with washi and started blocking in the flowers to get an idea of the shape of the overall arrangement. I wanted the arrangement to be a bit messy, like someone had picked a bunch of wildflowers and stuffed them in a vase on a quiet day. I love historical homes and the simplicity of some of the era’s colors and wood furniture. This rustic wooden table reminds me of those homes.

All the art supply goodies! I love all the color and potential. 🙂
