Edgar Allan Crow Collection

This Edgar Allan Crow collection is all based off of a crow that I painted on one dreary Poe-like day. :) I created seamless patterns with ink splatters (a nod to the Poet), and used software to turn the crow into various geometric, seamless patterns. You can find the collection on Patreon and Etsy in digital form. I also sell some of these designs as fabric on Spoonflower! ... View the Post

Oil Pastel Bird Nest Painting

One of my favorite art books is Painting Nature with Clare. She has a lovely style. I thought I would try her bird nest, since I love the colors teal and brown together. I painted on Starthmore's Toned Tan paper. I used oil pastels. My favorites are Mungyo and Paul Rubens. They are creamy and still easy to layer. Colored Pencils also work well with oil pastels and can give added details that can be hard to add with "chubby" oil pastel sticks. ... View the Post

Loose, Bright Watercolor in Art Journal

This painting is done in a loose watercolor style, so much so that there aren't even any outlines. That is not common for me, but the Rosa Gallery paints are so highly pigmented, that they can stand on their own! I worked in my very small art journal. The pressure is off! Art journals aren't very intimidating, so there is more freedom to create. Seamless pattern example is below! ... View the Post

Gromit & Feathers McGraw

I love the Wallace & Gromit world! The quaint, wholesome world in which they live is also incredibly funny. I have two shorts showcasing my drawing of Gromit and Feathers McGraw. The fairly easy shapes and coloring make their style an easier one for practicing fan art. If you haven't seen their shows, check them out here! ... View the Post

Bread Machine Egg Bread & Video Tutorial

This egg bread is soft and sturdy enough for sandwich slices. The eggs add some richness! This recipe is incredibly easy to make in your bread machine with ingredients that you already have on hand. The recipe card to download & video tutorial is below! BREAD MACHINE with ceramic pan. Of course, you can make this dough in a stand mixture and bake in a bread pan in the oven, but a bread machine does an excellent job at kneading, provides a perfect warmth for rising, and if wanted, is the ... Inktense Pencils Odds & Ends (Video)

This virus has been horrendous! I hope the rest of you are well! Our family has been down, and I'm always the last to recover. Switching our minds to more pleasant things, here are some Inktense pencil art journal odds and ends. I love Derwent products. They are easy to use, travel well, give amazing color, pigment, and versatility. I've already created seamless patterns with the first painting! You can find these flowers on fabric at Spoonflower! Here is the fabric at Raspberry ... View the Post
