Watercolor Jellyfish from Blobs of Paint & Video

It's not an elegant title, but they sure were fun to make! In my watercolor journal, I used clean water on my brush and painted blobs. Then, I loaded my brush and dropped in a couple of colors from my Art Philosophy Currents palette. They naturally blended together and filled-in the watered areas. I love how they change colors in a natural way as they dry. Some even have a bit of shimmer! ... View the Post

That is the beauty of mixed media art! I love the vintage vibe that I ended up with, as if he belongs in a children's book. Maybe I'll tackle a picture book at some point! VIDEO HERE Using some of my recent paintings in soft and oil pastels, I created this garden-themed pattern design. Since I can't grow a ... View the Post

“One Stroke” Acrylic Painting & Video

Here is a fun c-shaped painting in the "one stroke" style. This is a method by Donna Dewberry whereby you load your paintbrush with a couple of colors at a time. It's easy to do and adds insant shading and interest to the painting. VIDEO BELOW! I love Strathmore's toned tan paper! ... View the Post
