Acrylic Painting in My Sketchbook
This hardcover sketchbook is meant for dry media, but acrylic and gouache paint need little water to perform. Just in case, I did put a piece of thin cardboard behind the page while painting, just in case something should seep through. It did not. The paper is a lovely cream! So Many Flowers!
Here are a bunch of flowers and greenery I painted in acrylic as I was experimenting on Strathmore's Toned Tan paper. The colors really pop on the tan, and I love the little flecks of fibers that keep the background from feeling flat. Gouache would be another great option for this paper, as you don't need a lot of water. Then, put them all together in a cluster and make a pattern! Acrylic Painting in the One Stroke Style
Acrylic paint is great to work with. It's water-based, opaque, and easy to use. I love the bold colors that I can get, which are hard for me to achieve with watercolor. I have some strong colors here, which I combined with another painting to make the pattern you can see a few photos down.
