I am often tossing children’s book ideas around in my head, so I thought I would practice an illustration in my Strathmore toned tan sketchbook. This little house was a quick painting session, but a reminder that we can have a little fun instead of everything needing to be a big masterpiece. The proportions are a little off, but it ended up being a fun scene. I mostly used Artecho oil pastels, which are affordable and have a great range of color choices.

As a kid (and admittedly still), I loved to imagine who lived inside of a house. What did they do for a job? Hobbies? Were they nice or a serial killer? Sorry, the write in me lurched out. 🙂 Let’s hope one doesn’t live in this little happy house!

These houses are childlike and remind me of what I used to draw as a kid! 🙂
