You CAN use oil pastels on canvas, in case you were wondering! 🙂 I painted some 5 x 7 inch canvas boards with acrylic paint in blues, greens, and neutrals. they quickly dried, and I went straight in with my oil pastels. It is definitely different than working on paper due to the much more course texture of the canvas board, but still very enjoyable! I let the acrylic paint do the work for me for the background. I love the color palette and gentle, calming blues for the background. The pops of deep purple keep the whole painting from being “washed out”.
