Oil Pastel Purple Flowers on Handmade Paper
This handmade vintage-style paper is lovely to use for many types of media. I'm using oil pastels today, and I suggest doing an underpainting with colored pencils or gouache. I have a video below of another painting using the same paper. I love the deckled edge and speckles the are naturally there. It adds texture, and is frame-ready! ... View the Post
Oil Pastel Pink Castle & Short Video
This castle is in the land of Not Structurally Sound. :) Thankfully, it doesn't matter on paper. It was fun to paint! I used mostly Artecho oil pastels with a few of my Paul Rubens Haiya pastels. Dreamy! There are many days where it is considered a ... View the Post
Oil Pastel Florals & VIDEO

You may love them, though! I started the floral painting with the Blick oil pastels on Strathmore toned tan paper, but soon after switched my Mungyo Gallery and Paul Rubens oil pastels. The creaminess was instantly different. The good news is that the Blick oil pastels are cheap enough to try without any risk. ... View the Post
Oil Pastel Lighthouse Painting & Short Video
I love the water! Lighthouses are beautiful, timeless architectural art! I really enjoyed painting this one in oil pastels in my Strathmore toned tan paper art journal. I have a short video below! I mostly used Mungyo Gallery oil pastels, but any brand will do. :) I love the reds and blues and the idea of sitting on the cliff hearing the waves crash. That is peaceful to me. ... View the Post
