Art During the Great Power Outage

Michigan was hit hard with crazy winds up near the 66 m.p.h. mark! We were one of the lucky 800,000 to be without power. Our luck stretched even farther to be in the last 1% to be restored. That made our outage 6 1/2 days long! It was a week of character building to be sure. Though I couldn't record videos or run my machines, I could still draw. And read. I read a lot of poetry! I even drew people standing next to books. :) I also drew birds. They were a reminder that life ... View the Post

After Many Months…

I finally published my second short story installation in my A Short Tale for a Stormy Night Series! I'm not sure why my first one took two weeks and this one took two years, but so it is. We can't be afraid to say when something didn't work and learn from it. After all, I've gained experience and that is always valuable. Yay for a new year! ... View the Post

Drawing People!

My latest challenge to myself is to draw faces. I feel like it's something that seemed impossible to me in the past, and I like to do seeming impossible things. Off I went with a sketchbook and pencil! Always inspired by history, I went for a hair-up look. I like how she turned out! This is the long-necked girl. :) We had just been watching Alice in Wonderland, so I guess that accounts for the neck. I think she might be my favorite, wearing a riding habit of sorts. Are you afraid of ... View the Post
