Paper Crafting

The Flip Book

As a self-professed lover of books, I love the idea of making my own. There is something about creating something for people to open and explore like a great novel. In the paper crafting world, there are various types of books. One form is the flip book. It is made to do as you might think--to flip! I tried my hand at an envelope version and it was so much fun. I see many in my future... I used some paper from a Simon Says Stamp kit and made my own envelopes. Then I decorated it. Here ... View the Post

Personal· Uncategorized

Have you ever grown up thinking you can't do something and then decide one day to do that very thing? These past ten months or so, that has been the case for me. I have always been a creativity-driven person in various areas, but these recent months I have been challenging myself to do new things. Watercolor painting is one such thing. It is so relaxing! It' hard to describe the process unless you've done it. It helps you to view nature in even more detail. I find myself noticing gradation of ... View the Post

Bold Flowers

I'm still meditating on the beauties we experienced in northern Michigan on our vacation. It was the perfect fall weather. We still saw so many beautiful flowers, remaining bold in the crisp air. Mackinac Island had a lot of these! And these! Gorgeous! ... View the Post

The French Fry Box

There is something about a French Fry box. You know which one I mean. The red and yellow one, iconic and a symbol of American fast food. We aren't big on fast food eating, but those French fries are hard to pass up. This paper crafting project features that French fry box, which is perfect for putting treats in to give to some lucky soul. The Silhouette Cameo 3 makes it easy! I ran Stampin' Up Old Olive cardstock through and the lovely designer series paper to cut out the parts. It was so ... View the Post

Glorious Fall

There is something about the fall that inspires me. Maybe it's the fact that I'm not busy trying to keep cool from the hot sun, or I don't have to mow the lawn as often, but the fall is a time to cozy up and write. Of course, I write all year long, but the darker evenings are a segue to a more free imagination. I love the colors of fall, rich and earthy. The crunch of leaves and stillness of a clear night sky, is also a great favorite. The oven can be turned on, roasts consumed and scarves ... View the Post

Silhouette Cameo 3 & Stampin’ Up Milk Carton Box

It's fun to give gifts! This is certainly the time of year to be inspired to make your own boxes and bags. The Silhouette Cameo 3 has been fun to play with, and this milk carton template is fun to decorate. It's roomy enough for a variety of great gift choices like treats, candles, soaps and more. I decorated it with high quality Stampin' Up cardstock, designer series paper, glimmer paper (gorgeous), and then heat embossed the sentiment for texture. The fun burlap and rope add an earthy ...
