DIY Pizza Sauce

I was making some pizzas a couple of weeks ago, only to discover that I was out of pizza sauce. I knew I had a case of organic tomato sauce from Costco in the basement. How hard can pizza sauce be to make? It is amazing how easy it is to make pizza sauce. It's a lot cheaper too, since I already have all of the ingredients. RECIPE CARD BELOW You just need tomato sauce, tomato paste, and some seasonings. It's that simple! ... View the Post

Butcher Box July 2023

I received a great deal for Butcherbox that included a year of two pounds of ground beef for free, as well as $20.00 off five of my orders. (VIDEO BELOW) My fist box accidentally got delivered to a neighbor. They quickly sent a duplicate box. They have great customer service! Their meat has been delicious! My favorite is still Cooksventure for their heritage breed chicken, but this is great quality as well. They also have great sales to add to your box that makes grass fed and organic meat cost ... Acrylic Painting in My Sketchbook

This hardcover sketchbook is meant for dry media, but acrylic and gouache paint need little water to perform. Just in case, I did put a piece of thin cardboard behind the page while painting, just in case something should seep through. It did not. The paper is a lovely cream! I'm pretty sure it is made by Daler-Rowney. I got it a bit ago, and there aren't indicators on the book itself. ... View the Post

Sketchy Flower in Watercolor & Video

I sketched a flower in waterproof ink, then added watercolors and Posca pens for a bolder finish. I love sketchy flowers! Drawing freehand in your journal is a fun way to practice without feeling like it matters if you fail. I've had a lot of duds, but you have to keep going and you will get to the ones you love. VIDEO BELOW! ... View the Post

So Many Flowers!

Here are a bunch of flowers and greenery I painted in acrylic as I was experimenting on Strathmore's Toned Tan paper. The colors really pop on the tan, and I love the little flecks of fibers that keep the background from feeling flat. Gouache would be another great option for this paper, as you don't need a lot of water. Then, put them all together in a cluster and make a pattern! You can always use small, individual paintings. ... View the Post

Azure Haul 2023 July

This is our fourth order from Azure Standard. They really have great products! We are a family of sensitivies, so the great prices on organic products is a great help. I've been milling my own grain (still learning a lot), so the grain stock-up has been timely. The goat cheese and butter is delicious! The quinoa flakes brought us in, since my daughter needed an alternative to oats. She loves them! We have also tried the honey, chocolate chips, butter, grains, storage buckets (better price than ...
