Cards Inspiration: Shop Your Stash

Here is another batch of cards that I created for someone. I shopped my stash! I also used some fun techniques like heat embossing, ink sprays, and colored pencils. Don't be afraid to use your art supplies! I also used various brands together such as Spellbinders, Papercraft Society, and Sizzix. It is easy to fall into the trap of thinking that you have to have everything from every collection, but you don't. Purchase timeless designs and let varios techniques provide the variable. ... Arrtx Acrylic Markers Blueberries

These blueberries were painted with the Arrtx acrylic brush markers. I love that by using acrylic paint, you can keep them opaque or dilute with water for a more transparent look. After painting the blueberries, I used my Rosa Gallery watercolors to give a purple "shadow". I love the look! I created a surface pattern design that I have available at Spoonflower in fabric and wallpaper. :) I love my Posca paint pens, but these are much more affordable and do a great job! I have painted many ... View the Post

Rack of Lamb & VIDEO

Okay, this lamb was AMAZING! Please try it! I purchased the lamb from Aldi at a great price and followed a recipe (in the video description of my YouTube video) from Mary berry in THIS COOKBOOK. So delicious and easy! I cooked it in my roaster oven because I was testing the oven out. It worked perfectly! :) ... View the Post

Almond Milk

My daughter has some issues with cow's milk, and through the years we have purchased all the kinds of alternatives (except soy) at the market. They often felt thin and tasteless, so I thought I would try making my own. I know many people do, but I had never considered it before. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Homemade nut milk is creamy and tasty! After a bit of research, I landed on this nut milk maker. We didn't need to make huge amounts at a time, so this is a great size for us. I purchased some glass ... View the Post

Papercraft Society & Distress Watercolor Pencils

I keep trying to love these Tim Holtz Distress watercolor pencils. I have sets one through three. I do love the Distress color line, and often used the sprays and ink pads. These pencils look so pretty in their little tins. :) I grabbed an older Papercraft Society box, as I have been churning out a fair deal of cards lately. I smooshed some liquid ink on Bristol paper. I stamped the image on a piece of sturdy cardstock and used the pencils to color. I used a Tonic Studios shimmer pen to add ... View the Post

Arrtx Acrylic Markers & VIDEO

The Arrtx acrylic markers have been a lot of fun to use in recent weeks. The have various kinds, including this dual end style. You can use these as is for a smooth, opaque color, or dilute with water and a paintbrush for a gouache style. Either way, you will find a lot of applications for use in your art, card making, and journaling! VIDEO BELOW! Here are some other florals that I painted. In the picture above, I created a seamless pattern for paper crafting, and fabric. ... View the Post
