I have long been a fan of Jane Davenport products. I love her face to face stencils set that provides a great starting point for drawing. You can go a million directions with each face, so it is the perfect way to have fun in your sketchbook and maintain variety with limited supplies. I also love her book on faces! Oil Pastel Flowers in the Window Painting & VIDEO
I really love how this one turned out! I love pictures of old stone houses with flowers in a window box. These flowers are pouring out. :) I mostly used Paul Rubens oil pastels and Sennelier gold for accents. I have a video at the bottom of the post! This Canson Graduate XL mixed media paper in a creamy color is my second favorite paper to use with oil pastels. They blend really well on it. Baby Chick Oil Pastel Painting
We have had some bitterly cold and very windy days here of late. Painting springtime chicks for Easter seemed like a good idea. :) I'm using my Strathmore toned tan paper art journal and Mungyo Gallery oil pastels. I also used a charcoal pencil and my Prismacolor colored pencils for some of the finer detail. I love using this paper, as it is easy to blend the pastels. Below are some step-by-step photos. Oil Pastel Horse Painting & VIDEO
I grew up with Morgan horses and they are the best animals! They are beautiful, strong, graceful, practical, and loyal. Horses are one of my favorite animals in the Lord's creation. Oil Pastel Desert Painting & VIDEO
In light of Christmas, we watched The Nativity Story movie, which focuses on Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem and the great faith that they showed in trusting God. This desert painting reminds men of those that traversed afar during the Lord's first couple of years to visit him and give rich gifts to such a great King!
