Oil Pastel Lilies in a Jar

As summer vibes draw to a close, these lilies ( I know, spring) are saying goodbye to the season with fresh peaches and light green. I mostly used my Mungyo Gallery oil pastels and my favorite Strathmore toned paper. I created a surface pattern design that is perfect for fabric and digital paper. I love the cheeriness of these colors! There is a short video at the bottom of the post. :) ... View the Post

Oil Pastel Purple Anemone Painting

I have a book of flowers that I love to use for inspiration and color palettes. Don't be afraid to use floral arranging resources for painting references. It will give inspiration for color choices, sizes, and more! Here is one of my favorites! It's a beautiful book! I used all of the brands of oil pastels that usually sit on my studio desk: Paul Rubens, Mungyo Gallery, and Artecho. The color palettes are great, and they are all easy on the budget. I'm also using my favorite Strathmore toned ... View the Post

Oil Pastel Floral Paintings & Designs

Here are a couple of small floral paintings on my favorite Strathmore toned paper. It is a glorious paper! It is also wonderful for your colored pencils, Inktense pencils, and acrylic markers. As long as you don't apply too much water, it works well. I used mostly Mungyo Gallery oil pastels. As I'm typing, my finger is hurting! Yesterday, I peeled the tip and nail accidentally while prepping my freshly milled gnocchi. The meal was delicious, but I paid a price! :) ... View the Post

Spellbinders Advent Calendar Cards

Sometimes a project is so good, you just have to wait a year to share it! :) Ha ha! I just forgot, guys. I created these cards using the Spellbinders Advent craft calendar, which was so fun to open. I made them for a friend who's great at sending cards for birthdays and other special occasions. I colored in the flowers with Arrtx markers and, of course, used my Distress ink pads for some added flair. If you're feeling inspired, don't be afraid to dig into your own art ... View the Post

Oil Pastel Bird & Surface Pattern Design

I love painting birds! This yellow birds, set off by bright florals, is so cheerful. :) I used mostly Mungyo Gallery and Mont Marte oil pastels on Strathmore toned tan paper. I have a short video below. Oil pastels have become such a favorite art supply! My YouTube channel has tons of videos if you are new to oil pastels, or just need some ideas. I love creating seamless patterns for paper crafting and interior design. I love a good kelly green! C'mon, guys. You know you want ... View the Post

Oil Pastel Florals on Canson Cream Paper & VIDEO

Though I will never forsake my Strathmore toned paper, this Canson Graduate cream mixed media paper works really well with oil pastels! These florals were mostly painted with Mungyo Gallery and Paul Rubens oil pastels. I also added some lovely sparkle with the Sennelier Iridescents set. :) Taping off the sides with washi gives nice, clean edges at the end. VIDEO below! There is just enough tooth to hold the pastels! Of course, you can also do an underpainting with watercolor or colored ... View the Post
