I wanted to paint something fishy. :) The colors and contrast of this fish with the water blues and greens is vivid. I mostly used Paul Rubens and Mungyo Gallery oil pastels, as well as my Sennelier gold for details and sparkly bits in the water. Oil Pastels work really well on this Canson toned paper. Freshly Milled Hamburger Buns
I have been freshly milling my flour for a couple of years, but now I do it exclusively to battle an autoimmune disease in our family. Oil Pastel Teal Door Secret Garden & VIDEO
I love doors that lead to secret places, like beautiful and mysterious gardens! I loved reading The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, and ever since, have loved the idea of a stone wall and locked doors. Oil Pastel Rose Farm Landscape Painting & VIDEO
I have been enjoying painting simple landscapes, and for this painting, I limited myself to a specific rose-like palette. I used Artecho oil pastels along with my Prismacolor colored pencils for detail work and sketching. The Canson Graduate toned paper works really well holding up the creamy pastels.
