These are so easy to make, delicious, and great for when you don't want to heat up the house. One of my favorite cookbooks right now is The Feel Good Foodie cookbook. I have made several things from it, and everything has been amazingly delicious! You can pop them into glass containers (or freezer bags) for storage. Just grab a few out when needed! :) I love getting my dates from Azure Standard. The quality is amazing! Check out the video below for the easy process. :) ... View the Post
Oil Pastel Bird Painting on Toned Paper
The beauty of oil pastels is that they can be layered in a chunkier style, or blended for ultra smoothness. They are not delicate, as watercolor tends to be for example, but bring bold color and versatility. This bird was painted on my favorite Strathmore toned tan paper. I used washi tape for the "clean edge reveal" at the end! :) I was in the mood for bright, happy colors. I used a combination of Mungyo Gallery oil pastels, Paul Rubens, and Artecho. They are all great and bring wonderful color ... View the Post
Slow Cooker Arancini Casserole & VIDEO
You have to try this easy and tasty slow cooker casserole! As the name suggests, it taps into the ingredients often associated with arancini. Normally, arancini are stuffed and fried rice balls. This is a casserole version that is so easy to cook. It would also make a great side dish or potluck contribution! :) I have a VIDEO at the bottom of the post for those that are visual learners. Recipe: 4 c cooked white rice 2 c cream cheese 1 c chicken broth 2 c finely grated Pecorino or parm 6-8 ... View the Post
Oil Pastel Fairy Door Vase Painting & VIDEO
Here is the second "fairy door vase" painting (two of three) that features orange-like fruit. I love the teal green and coral color palette! I painted this on my Strathmore toned paper art journal with lovely shades from Artecho oil pastels. I taped the sides with washi, so I would get clean edges. :) The YouTube video is below! The smudgy, creamy texture of oil pastels is a lot of fun to create with, as it gives art a little dimension. I often use my Prismacolor colored pencils for ... View the Post
Oil Pastel Painting: Grecian Column with Florals
I love architecture from other countries and eras. I think the modern world has dropped the ball on design in beauty and functions. Many buildings are just plain depressing. I love functional art. Buildings that we can use, while still exuding beauty, is the best design to me. Regardless, we can use our art journals to draw our favorites styles! :) I've use mostly Mungyo Gallery oil pastels, as well as some other brands, in my Strathmore toned tan paper journal. There is a short video at the ... View the Post
Oil Pastel Fairy Door Flower Vase & VIDEO
I did a bit of a mini series of paintings that include florals in a vase. This is the first of three. I love the classic blue and yellow. It is very cheery! I used oil pastels on Strathmore toned paper. I used washi tape to give crisp edges. Peeling that washi off at the end is weirdly satisfying. :) I have a video at the bottom of the post, so be sure to check it out! I have over 1,500 videos on my channel! Oil Pastels and colored pencils work so well together. I've used my Prismacolor colored ... View the Post
